The United States-based Professional Datasolutions Inc. (PDI), has reportedly announced taking over a fuel savings application, GasBuddy for an undisclosed transaction amount. For the record, GasBuddy is a mobile application which is typically used by drivers to find and share real-time fuel prices.
Reports suggest that through this acquisition, PDI is looking forward to extending its capabilities in direct-to-consumer delivery of promotional offers and communications, along with the engagement of consumers in convenience store and petroleum rewards initiatives.
In addition to this, the company also intends to improve GasBuddy’s current offerings, expanding the services and offerings of retailers to attract more customers at the brick and mortar stores, enroll in the retailer’s loyalty program, and also receive offers funded by CPGs.
It has been claimed that PDI would further enable these retailers to extend the customized fuel pricing offers in real time to customers who are on-site or driving in the close vicinity of the store. Meanwhile, the retailers would also have an equal opportunity to promote instore products and services.
According to credible sources, along with extending its capabilities and offerings, PDI will also simultaneously enhance GasBuddy Business Pages, which highlights listing services and reputation management.
Claims have been made that the Business Pages would be integrated with the current PDI products and offerings to offer convenience retailers with more holistic and comprehensive visibility into the consumer sentiment, while providing proper insights about store visits, business performance, and purchase behavior.
Commenting on the latest acquisition, President and GM for Marketing Cloud Solution at PDI, Brandon Logsdon stated that enriching the gas pricing information and the related conversations that consumers are having, the company is aiming to support retailers in driving massive sales and loyalty when and where consumers are ready to buy.
Brandon further cited that this move would potentially enhance the utility and experience of the application for its millions of users in the upcoming years.
On the other hand, Sarah McCrary, CEO at GasBuddy, mentioned that with the help of PDI resources, the app users are expected to get even more benefits; which stands as a win-win situation for everyone.
