Zonda, a U.S. based real estate media firm, has reportedly announced taking over Vancouver-headquartered multifamily and urban market data and analytics firm, Urban Analytics, for an undisclosed transaction amount.
Urban Analytics, for over a while now, has been offering real estate data for planners, developers, financial institutions, and other industry shareholders in the real estate markets of Edmonton, Vancouver, and Calgary.
Jon Bennest, Principal of Urban Analytics, has mentioned that the firm’s market-leading data platform provides clients with the latest market conditions, including buyer trends and price, while also offering an insight of the anticipated movements like contemplated projects, enabling them to make more educated and better decisions.
Through this novel acquisition, Zonda is looking forward to expanding its current client base into major Canadian markets, including Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa, while simultaneously adding multifamily and urban market coverage to its existing data in the United States.
It has been speculated that the latest acquisition move follows Zonda’s 2020 acquisition of a residential market research firm Belfiore Real Estate Consulting and satellite imagery and AI technology company Bird.i.
Commenting on the acquisition deal, CEO of Zonda, Jeff Meyers cited that expanding Zonda’s footprint into Canada and the United States multifamily and urban markets has always been a long-term strategy for the company, which it believes is rightfully achieved through Urban Analytics buyout.
Jon added that the firm is elated to welcome onboard the team of Urban Analytics and is seeking to integrate its indispensable urban-focused data into the company’s platforms.
Michael Ferreira, Managing Principal at Urban Analytics, stated that the acquisition deal stands out to be an exciting opportunity of the company. Being a part of the Zonda Group would strengthen Urban Analytics position in the Canadian markets, while also allowing the U.S clients to leverage the benefits exceptional urban data the firm offers.
